The National Tertiary Education Union (Victorian Division) covers members employed in universities, associated companies, research institutes, TAFE, student unions and adult and community education. The Union's membership includes Academic, General, Research and Professional staff.

NTEU is seeking applications for a full-time Industrial Officer located in the NTEU Victorian Division office in South Melbourne, although travel to all Victorian campuses may be required from time to time. The position is offered as an ongoing role, and will be available immediately.

As part of a Division team working with workplace branches, the successful applicant will be expected to:

  • Prepare and/or advocate cases before the Fair Work Commission and other tribunals and Courts.
  • Provide industrial advice to members, Branches and the Division on industrial matters and disputes.
  • Negotiate workplace grievances/issues and industrial disputes with management.
  • Provide high-level technical support and lead major Enterprise Bargaining negotiations.

This position will complement an established industrial team in the Victorian Division Office.

The position will be filled at either NTEU Level 6 or 7 ($108,828 to 136,349 p.a.) depending on skills and experience, plus 17% employer superannuation contributions. Terms and conditions for this position are covered by a national collective agreement which has terms comparable with NTEU members in the industry.
